Richard Burns, England
In his first full year of rallying in 1990, Richard Burns won the prestigeous British Peugeot GTi Cup, and from that point on the red-haired young star went on to win every national title Britain had to offer. Just three years later, at the age of 22, he won the British International Championship while driving for Subaru, becoming the youngest driver ever to do so, and was quickly promoted to the Asia-Pacific and World Rally Championships with the team. Burns joined Team Mitsubishi Ralliart in 1996, scoring victory in the Rally New Zealand that year. He obtained the first World Championship win of his career in 1998 at the Safari Rally.
