SUOMEKSI - IN FINNISH
Web Design by Petri Karonen
What you say and show is important, not the technical details of how you do it.

As the Internet keeps on growing we are soon in a situation in which any business is expected to have a web site.

Large web projects, such as web commerce or integrating databases to web pages, require usually team work and large investments. Most businesses, however, use the web only to present themselves and their products or services. These kind of sites are often most affordably made by a single designer. A web designer needs experience in new media, a solid graphic eye and mastery of written language.

I claim to hold these properties and that is why I offer web design services for businesses. I design entire sites, in both English and Finnish, for a reasonable hourly fee. When necessary, I can also take care of maintaining and updating the sites.

I'm a Bachelor of Arts at the University of Jyväskylä in Finland, majoring in English Philology and minoring in Computer Science and Journalism. Alongside my studies I have been involved in several commercial web projects as well as a few printed brochure productions.

Eight years of Internet experience has taught me that the phrase 'content is king' is definitely true in the World Wide Web. What you say and show is important, not the technical details of how you do it.

The appearance and layout should support the content by being of professional standard and avoiding unnecessary gimmicks. A good web site is a clear entity which uses the opportunities created by the Internet effectively.
